Photo of the week: Land Rover on Pearsoll Peak
Written: June 24, 2011
by Steve Schoenfelder
This photo was taken by a member of the Pacific Coast Rover Club a couple years ago at Pearsoll Peak in Southern Oregon. We were on a Land Rover camping trip in the area. Pearsoll Peak is in the Kalmiopsis Wilderness area. In 2002 the "Biscuit Fire" swept through the area burning over 500,00 acres. The fire lookout is maintained by a volunteer group and is available to the public for weekend stays. You can drive within about a half-mile of the look out with a 4wd or high-clearance vehicle.
