Warn Industries Releases Revolutionary New 'Olympus 25' DC-electric Winch
Las Vegas, NV (11/02/10) - Warn Industries has always been an innovator in the world of torque transfer
technology. It all started more than 60 years ago and continues to this day. The company's latest innovation comes in the
form of an incredibly powerful, yet amazingly efficient electric winch for industrial markets. With a pulling strength
of 25,000 lbf. and a duty cycle that will pull farther than any other existing electric winch, this unit is not only innovative,
it's revolutionary. Introducing the WARN Olympus 25 DC-electric winch.
The most powerful DC winch is also the most efficient
Designed for vehicle recovery, the WARN Olympus 25 uses a new, state-of-the art 24V Axial Flux Permanent Magnet
motor helping to give it 25,000 lbf. of pulling power-the most of any DC-electric winch on the market. The Olympus 25
also has a duty cycle that nears hydraulic winch performance levels, but without all of the plumbing, maintenance, or
mess of a hydraulic unit. With all that power, the Olympus 25 still only has two-thirds of the amp draw compared to
existing DC-electric winches. Additionally, the Olympus 25 is made from aluminum alloy, so it is light weight. In
fact, the winch weighs nearly 65% less than comparable hydraulic winches, translating into fuel savings and more
vehicle payload.
Useful features and outstanding amenities
The Olympus 25 has outstanding power and efficiency, but that's only part of the story. The winch has many other
outstanding features and amenities, too.
For example, the winch uses an innovative multi-plate electromagnetic disc brake in conjunction with dynamic
braking for top-notch load-holding. This braking system eliminates drum heat caused by conventional friction
brakes, which continuously apply drag. Because of this, WARN is the first to be able to offer high-strength
synthetic rope on a conventional high-capacity winch. The Olympus 25 also features an over load interrupt
module (OLI) that digitally limits pulling power in low voltage or overload situations, helping to prevent damage to
the winch.
For outstanding corrosion resistance, the winch is available with a variety of corrosion-resistant finishes
including CARC, anodized, or powder coatings. Plus, the Olympus 25 has extreme-duty sealing to help keep
water and contaminants out.
The Olympus 25 is available with wire or synthetic rope options to meet specific pulling needs. It also has a newly
engineered multi-stage planetary geartrain with carriers made from solid aluminum alloy for smooth, reliable,
maintenance-free operation and excellent efficiency.
