Warn Industries Launches New Portable Winch Kit Targeted
to Outdoor Sportsmen

CLACKAMAS, Ore. (April 25, 2006) - Warn Industries, the worldwide leader in self-recovery vehicle winches, today unveiled its newest winch system specifically designed for outdoor sportsmen who ride ATVs to hunt, fish or camp.

The new WARN Pack & Pull 2.5 ATV Recovery Kit is a portable winch system that features a 2,500 lb. capacity winch, and the ability to pull from either the front or rear of an ATV. Simple to use right out of the box, the system comes with high-strength recovery straps that easily connect the winch to the ATV - no permanent mounting kit is required - and a Quick-Connect plug that provides fast access to the vehicle battery.

"Because no permanent mounting kit is required, the Pack & Pull is a universal application that any sportsman can use with any ATV model," said Karl Christensen, general manager of Warn Industries' Powersports Division. "It's also easy to install. The Quick-Connect plug takes about 10 minutes to hook up to the vehicle battery. After that, a rider simply plugs in the winch, attaches the straps, and is ready to pull."

For the avid outdoorsman, the WARN Pack & Pull 2.5 ATV Recovery Kit can serve two functions: recover an ATV from a stuck situation, or haul heavy game that would normally be moved by hand.

Facing a recovery situation, a rider can rescue an ATV by: taking the Pack & Pull out of its custom WARN carry bag; attaching the winch to the front or rear of the ATV using the 8' strap; connecting the winch to the battery power leads; fastening the 10' recovery strap to an anchor point, such as a tree or another ATV; connecting the synthetic winch rope to the recovery strap; attaching the remote control, and winching the ATV out of trouble.

For recovering game, the winch can be used in the same fashion; however the recovery strap would be hooked to the animal rather than an anchor point.

This easy-to-use unit includes an integrated carrier plate with fairlead and handle and a remote control with 10' lead. 50' of 5/32" synthetic rope comes standard on the winch. The entire kit weighs just 32 lbs.
