Get involved and help keep trails open
Written: February 15, 2011
As you may have realized, the sport of OHVing needs your support. Whether your vehicle of choice is a truck/SUV, a side x side/quad, dirt bike, or snowmobile, the land that we all enjoy riding on is being taken away at an alarming rate.
You don't need to be a lawmaker or a lawyer; you don't need to donate a lot of money to make a big difference, either. You can make a big difference by just getting involved and sending a letter to your local representative, or by taking an afternoon to help out an off road club by volunteering your time to clean up your local trails. In many areas, the funds to keep your trails open are based on the number of volunteer hours recorded during the year. Make sure you check in with the club you are volunteering with so your hours are recorded properly. There are also funds and grants that can be gained by volunteer work.
