Icon Motorsports' Roach: Yes, it's got a winch.
Written: March 13, 2012
Here's something you don't see everyday. A 1986 Harley Davidson Sportster adventure touring bike with a WARN winch. In fact, I doubt that last sentence has ever been muttered before. Icon Motorsports
built this bike and it is definitely a head turner.
Looking like something that survived the apocalypse, the Roach, as they call it, is a unique take on an adventure touring motorcycle. Naturally, it's V-twin powered, but it features dirt track tires, SuperTrapp side pipes, and a WARN XT17 Portable winch
on the front in addition to some suspension work, custom paint, and other goodies. The bike appears on pages 3, 8, and 9 on of the Icon catalog, too. There's even a caption that reads, "The ability of self-recovery is a commodity relatively new to most adventure tourers. Apocalypse tourers have known the necessity of a packable WARN XT17 winch since the first outbreak."
Two-wheeled vehicle enthusiasts can check out BikeExif.com
