WARN Ascent Bumpers: Three Styles for Late-Model Pickups

Warn Industries has been making durable, dependable bumpers for pickup trucks, SUVs, ATVs, and UTVs for decades. We have a commitment to innovation, quality, and performance, too. This long bumper history continues with the latest lineup of bumpers in our Ascent product line.

The Ascent truck bumpers have been around for several years, but we’re continually updating the lineup with the latest applications. And now, Ascent falls into three different categories. Ascent, Ascent HD, and Ascent XP. While all showcase different features and benefits, they’re all made with pride in the USA, wear a state-of-the-art powdercoated finish for corrosion resistance, and showcase a low-profile design with a rugged style that accommodates oversized tires. We’ve put together a video that goes over all the differences, as well as this brief rundown of similarities and differences.

Ascent Front Bumpers

Our standard Ascent bumpers are welded one-piece welded units that’ll accommodate up to a 12,000 lb. mid-frame winch. This includes VR EVO, ZEON, and ZEON Platinum as well as a host of our other specialty/classic winches. Unlike the competition, we pull-test these bumpers up to the 12,000 lb. winch capacity to ensure they are up to the severe forces of winching. These bumpers also feature through-welded tabs for mounting shackles, ports four up to four 3”x 3” cube lights (not included), and a state-of-the-art powder-coated finish that stands up to rigorous 408 hour salt spray testing. Most Ascent bumpers are available with an optional bolt-on grille guard tube for extra frontal protection from trail hazards (bar sold separately).

Ascent HD Front Bumpers

Our Ascent HD bumpers take all the good things about the standard Ascent front bumpers, but lets you mount larger-capacity winches—ideal for bigger, heavier trucks. Whereas the standard Ascent bumper will take mid-frame winches up to 12,000 lbs. in capacity, Ascent HD will accommodate both the mid-frame and large-frame winches up to 18,000 lbs. in capacity. That includes the previously mentioned winches as well as the bigger M12, M15, and 16.5ti winches as well as select Series G2 industrial winches. This makes Ascent HD ideal for both personal and professional trucks. Like the standard Ascent, these bumpers are pull tested to the maximum winching capacity, 18,000 lbs. They are made from thick 1/4” and 3/16” steel. The low-profile Ascent HD bumpers are available with no grille guard, a lower Baja-Style grille guard, or a full grille guard which offers the most protection. All these tubes are welded on. You also get the ability to mount up to four 3”x3” lights, as well as the welded eyelets for shackles. If you’ve got a hard-working HD truck, you’ll want Ascent HD.

Ascent XP Front Bumpers

While our Ascent and Ascent HD bumpers are designed for mounting winches, we understand that not all truck buyers need a winch. For this person, Warn introduced the Ascent XP bumper lineup. These bumpers provide the rugged style and durable construction of our other Ascent bumpers, but instead of a winch mount, we’ve incorporated a slot that’ll accept up to a 30” light bar. Buyers also get the ability to still mount up to four 3”x3” cube lights on the corners, too. These bumpers all come with a welded-on grille guard tube for increased frontal protection and the same state-of-the-art powdercoated finish found on Ascent and Ascent HD. These are a great mixture of style and durability.

Ascent Rear Bumpers

We should also note that we offer a full lineup of Ascent rear bumpers for a host of pickup trucks, too. These are made with the same exceptional quality, performance, and style as our front bumpers. They feature integrated steps for easy bed access, ports for lights, and the ability to help increase departure angles and accommodate oversize tires. They’re a great complement to the Ascent front bumpers, too.

So no matter what your bumper needs are for your late-model pickup truck, Warn offers an application for many of the Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Ram, and Toyota pickups.
