The WARN ZEON line of winches is continuing to expand. The latest release? The ZEON XC. This winch lineup has many of the features of the ZEON XD winches, but in a more compact, low-profile shape (among other features). This makes it excellent for classic builds or other vehicles where space is limited for winch installations. Let's take a closer look.

Big ZEON XD Power, Smaller ZEON XC Shape

The ZEON XC has all the power and many of the features of the ZEON XD. In fact, the motor and gear train are the same. This means you can choose between 10,000, 12,000, and 14,000 lb. capacities. All provide best-in-class line speed; smooth, reliable, and efficient three-stage planetary geartrains, and automatic load-holding brakes. They also are IP68/IP69k waterproof, complete with O-ring sealing. This means they'll stand up to the nastiest conditions and can even work when submerged if needed. It also increases reliability and product life.

ZEON XC has a unique all-new low-profile control box. This helps to keep the size down. FYI, the control box can be mounted up to 9" away from the winch without a relocation kit. (A relocation kit is available should you need to move it farther away.) Also, the motor-end and gear-end housings are smaller, allowing the winch to fit into tighter spaces. So, if you've got an older rig that can't accept a ZEON XD or ZEON XP, the ZEON XC can be a great option.

Synthetic, Steel, or No Winch Line

ZEON XC gives you a choice of winch line. You can choose between:

• 100' of 3/8" Spydura synthetic winch rope and a black hawse fairlead (XC 10-S, XC 12-S, XC 14-S)
• 80' of 3/8" steel rope and a roller fairlead (XC 10, XC 12)
• Bare winch drums with no rope or fairlead (XC 10 Bare, XC 12 Bare, XC 14 Bare)

ZEON XC isn't just about capacity choice; you can also get the winches in almost any rope configuration you'd prefer.

Versatile and Efficient

ZEON XC winches offer a host of other features, making them very versatile. For starters, the motor can be rotated up to 90° forward and the control pack moves with it. The transmission can also be moved in up to five different positions. The winch can be mounted feet down or feet forward, and no separate offset fairlead is needed. No matter the mounting position, ZEON XC can adapt to almost any scenario.

Inside the low-profile control box is an ultra-reliable, waterproof Albright contactor. This is the best kind of controller on the market. The electrical system uses efficient bus bar connections, helping reduce electrical draw and increasing durability.

The winch includes a ruggedized corded remote with a 12' lead. The WARN HUB Wireless Control System is also compatible with the ZEON XC (sold separately). This lets you wirelessly operate the winch using the Bluetooth connection on your smartphone.
